Photo 101 : Part 1/5 “Intro – All About you Cameras Controls”
What do all those terms and numbers mean? F-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, white balance, format, program, manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, depth of field. Yikes! Confused?

Photo 101 : Part 2/5 “All About Exposure”
In this second class Jerry Sadowski will cover the many aspects of proper exposure. Using what you learned in Jerry’s first class, about the camera controls of shutter speed, aperture (F stop) and ISO, we will now put it all together and explain when to use the exposure modes of: Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual.

Photo 101 : Part 3/5 “All About Lenses”
In this third class Jerry Sadowski will cover the various properties of lenses, such as: focal length and speed and explain the different types of lenses including; normal, wide angle, telephoto, zoom, prime, macro and portrait. Why to use and when to use one over another will be discussed.

Photo 101 : Part 4/5 “All About Flash”
In the fourth class of “Get to Know Your DSLR Camera”, Jerry Sadowski will cover flash photography using the cameras’ built-in flash and accessory speedlight (flash). It is easier than you think to learn how to utilize your accessory speedlight to make your photos look like they were lit by a pro. Off camera flash units, cords and diffusion devices will be discussed and demonstrated. It is not necessary to have taken Jerry’s first three classes to benefit greatly from this class.

Photo 101 : Part 5/5 “All About Composition”
In the fifth class of this series Jerry Sadowski will cover the non-technical topic of composition.

Where should I stand? Where do I place my main subject within the frame? How do I effectively place other objects so that they support and direct the viewer’s attention to the main subject?

Jerry Sadowski holds a BA and MA in Photography from Wayne State University, has worked as a freelance photographer and taught photography at Wayne State University, Marygrove College, College for Creative Studies and Henry Ford Community College.

Join us for this class to “delete” your confusion.
